Noriko’s origami jewellery is handmade in Adelaide using colourful, high quality ‘washi’ (traditional handmade paper from Japan) to create intricate ‘one of a kind’ earrings, studs and brooches. Each tiny piece is hand-folded, then coated in resin to make them durable and wearable.
Noriko grew up in Japan where origami is a huge part of childhood. She first came to Australia at the age of 19 as a volunteer to teach origami, tea ceremony, calligraphy, dance and Japanese cooking to Australian school students.
She never tires of making origami, and started her label NORIGAMI in 2017, inspired by her daughters and her mother who share her love of creating.
Noriko’s signature work is the paper crane earring that is instantly recognisable and always sparks conversations.
