Ida’s intricate designs in silver and enamel are like miniature landscapes inspired by nature. She considers jewellery as visual poetry, that is the reflection of the maker and the wearer.
Her pieces are inspired by the world surrounding us, by life experiences and her Hungarian heritage.
Arriving in Australia as a refugee in 1987 with her baby boy and husband, she learnt English and majored in jewellery at the North Adelaide School of Art. Ida has been working as a self-employed studio jeweller since graduating in 1994.
Her jewellery is in galleries all over Australia. She joined the Collective in 2023.
