Kate’s small-scale sculptures, bag charms and bookmarks are made using the specialised technique of microcrochet. Using a tiny (0.6/0.4mm) hook, fine threads and inks she creates unique miniature botanical pieces inspired by her love of nature and
her daily walks in the Adelaide Hills.

Kate graduated from Loughborough College of Art, in the UK with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Fine Art Painting and, after moving to Australia in 2009, continued her creative journey, discovering a passion for crochet. Kate loves the challenge of translating the beauty of a flower or plant into minute crochet stitches.

Kate creates under the label of Five Willows, a name inspired by her parents’ beautiful garden in England.
