Verity uses natural dyes and traditional techniques to create original scarves, cowls and clothing with her yarn. She also works with fibres such as silks, cottons and linens. The wool is milled locally, naturally hand dyed and the garments made using a vintage knitting machine.
Working with the natural world, Verity creates practical and beautiful textiles with minimal environmental impact. Verity’s passion is in botanical dyes, which she produces mostly from plants foraged on her award-winning property, Nomad Farms.
As an SA-based farmer and textile artist Verity is inspired by the world she lives and works in every day. She uses regenerative farming practices to raise the Polwarth sheep that provide the wool for her artwork. She literally knows where every fibre comes from.
Verity feels the therapeutic power of nature and creativity, and strives to share this through her art.
