Textile Artist
Margaret loves designing & creating bags and the jewellery and accessories to go with it.
Using threads, fabrics, beads, leather, feathers, fur, chains, cork, and even paper, Margaret sees creating a bag is a bit like doing a three-dimensional jig-saw puzzle, and if something can be stitched with a needle & thread, she has probably tried it.
Her inspiration comes from travel, history, Art Deco design, popular culture, or simply waking up with a new idea to try.
New effects are created by manipulating fabrics & yarns, layering, embroidering, painting fabrics & felting.
It takes Margaret many hours to manipulate and stitch the tiny glass beads she uses to create her jewellery pieces, with some containing over two hundred beads. She joined in 2007.
